(More customer reviews)It is a black-white movie in Russian language. It is a part of a longer movie which is available in Russian language and in color. The first part of the original is omitted. It is no science fiction film but a documentary film how the Russians thought about the space exploration. It is not made 1955 but later.
The original color movie is "Doroga k zvezdam" "Road to the Stars" - (1957)
The American black and white version of the movie starts with the start of a small Russian rocket. Then it shows in a kind of future planning and visions the start of the first spaceship, launching of a space station and a trip to the moon.
It was the time of the launch of the first Sputnik.
The picture quality is different and the sound quality is pure sometimes, but this makes some of the attraction of the film.
The original starts with the life of Tsiolkovsky and his ideas about the rockets.
As it appears, the movie cannot be completely from 1955, it shows the first sputnik.
I do not know if it is an earlier version of Road to the Stars - Doroga k zvezdam from 1957
