(More customer reviews)I really enjoy this series. The entire cast is excellent and complements each other. This is one of the few series I look forward to, both new and reruns.
This first release of That 70s show on DVD contains all of the episodes of its first season. All 25 episodes are contained on 4 disks. It is full frame and list at 575 minutes.

1) That `70s Pilot - Red gives Eric the keys to the Vista Cruiser and tells him he can go anywhere but out of town but of course they go out of town.
2) Eric's Birthday - The last think Eric wants on his birthday is a party but he gets one anyway.
3) Streaking - President Ford comes to town and the boys decide to streak. Red is selected to ask the President a question.
4) Battle of the Sexists - Eric feels less that a man when he loses a game of basketball to Donna.
5) Eric's Burger Job - Eric gets a job at Fatso burger.
6) The Keg - Eric and Donna skip a day of school and find Hyde and Fes in the back seat of the car. While driving down the road they find a keg of beer.
7) That Disco Episode - Kitty teaches Hyde how to dance.
8) Drive In - Eric and Donna go to the drive-in.
9) Thanksgiving - Laurie comes home for Thanksgiving.
10) Sunday, Bloody Sunday - Red's mother comes for a Sunday visit and drives everyone crazy, except for Fes.
11) Eric's Buddy - Eric has a new friend and Kelso and Hyde can't stand it.
12) The Best Christmas Ever - Red give Eric $40 to get a tree but he keeps the money and cuts down a tree from beside the road.
13) Ski Trip - The gang goes to Jackie's cabin for the weekend. Kelso is uninvited when Jackie finds out he was fooling around with Pam Macy. Kelso show up anyway.
14) Stolen Car - Eric scratches the car and Red takes away the keys. Kelso get a car from his cousin and they get arrested for having a stolen car.
15) That Wrestling Show - Kitty "forces" Eric and Red to become friends. So the gang, Red and Bob go to a wrestling show.
16) First Date - Eric and Donna have their first date. Donna gets drunk and Hyde show up and tells Donna how he feels about her.
17) The Pill - Jackie thinks she may be pregnant.
18) Career Day - The gang spends career day with their parents.
19) Prom Night - Eric gets a motel room for him and Donna but nothing happens. Hyde takes Jackie because Kelso is out with Pam Macy.
20) A New Hope - The boys go to see Star Wars. Kelso is so impressed that he even says no to sex with Jackie just to see it again.
21) Water Tower - The boy's paint a giant pot leaf on the water tower and Kelso falls off. After coming home Eric runs upstairs to get his mother, to look at Kelso arm, and finds his parents having sex.
22) Punk Chick - Hyde meets a girl and tries to convince him to go to New York.
23) Grandma's Dead - Eric is driving his grandmother home and she dies. We also get to meet Red's brother.
24) Hyde Moves In - Hyde moves in with the Foreman's.
25) The Good Son - Now that Hyde has moved in he has become the preferred son and Red's war buddy (Mitch Pileggi from the X-Files) returns and he turns out to be a swinger.

The Book of Eli (2010) Review

(More customer reviews)The Book of Eli is a vastly underappreciated film that mixes martial arts swordsmanship, a post-apocalyptic setting, and a biblical narrative.
A war, over thirty years ago, killed off many people in the United States. Others were blinded from the blast. This creates an interesting disparity between those over thirty years of age who received an education and those under thirty who know nothing of the modern world (at one point, one of the thugs asks, "What's a television?").
This is an unpleasant world. Cannibalistic brigands ambush unwary travelers, identifiable by their shaking hands. Water is at a premium. Batteries are hard to find. The Book of Eli makes it clear that there's no currency, only barter.
Roaming the land is Eli (a subdued Denzel Washington), carrying a book with a cross on it. This book is greatly desired by Carnegie (a greasy Gary Oldman), who is also old enough to remember the power such a tome can have over the people. While Eli has been wandering for thirty years in pursuit of such a destination, Carnegie has been sending illiterate henchmen to retrieve every book he can find. The encounter between the two has all the fire and brimstone of a battle between heaven and hell.
Thrown into the mix is Solara (played beautifully by Mila Kunis, who finally sheds her trademark accent), a young, attractive girl who has grown up under Carnegie's protection but, as she flowers into womanhood, is about to become a bargaining chip, a piece of meat, and a lure. When there's no one left to protect her, she becomes a wanderer in Eli's footsteps.
From a religious point of view, it's educational to understand who Eli was in the Bible. In the Bible, Eli's children are cursed for behaving wickedly, a parallel for the war that destroyed civilization in the movie. God's curse assures that all men will "die by the sword" - in the movie Eli expertly cuts a bloody swath through his enemies with his machete. In the Bible, it was the job of Eli's sons to guard the Ark of the Covenant - the pact God made with man - just as Eli guards the holy book in the movie.
There's a twist ending that's not a twist of all if you read up about Eli in the Bible. But don't - watch the movie, then do some research, then watch the movie again. Like Eli's quest for spiritual fulfillment, the experience will be rather eye-opening.

A Star Wars spoof in 2007 isn't exactly uncharted territory. As Chris Griffin notes in this episode's final moments, Robot Chicken brilliantly did it months earlier (and let us not forget Mel Brooks' Spaceballs from 1987; or, on second thought...). Family Guy Presents: Something Something Something Dark Side Review

(More customer reviews)Family Guy is back with a second Star Wars Episode. Honestly, it shouldn't matter if you are a fan of The Empire Strikes Back or not (I don't care much for A New Hope but loved the FG episode). Here is what you need to know: Is it funny? Sure, there are some laughs. Could it be better? I think so. Was it as funny as the last one? In my opinion, no.
Is it funny?-The fact that the episode had me laughing in the first few minutes was a good sign (the probe droid scene was probably my favorite scene in the episode). They do well to incorporate characters into funny yet familiar roles in the most random of times. You will laugh at this episode, so that should be worth something.
Could it be better?-Well...that is kind of my whole point here. There are so many missed opportunities in this episode to poke fun at Star Wars or other actors/actresses that are not taken advantage of. No Luke kissing Leia jokes...no Lando crossing his friends...no jokes about the Ugnaughts (pig people)...come on! Is it too predictable? Maybe...but it still deserves a shot. Besides the missed jokes, some parts were just not too funny, like the AT-AT jokes on Hoth.
Was it as funny as the last one?-I have my criticisms about Blue Harvest and they transfer over to this one too, but Blue Harvest just seemed to have the classic Family Guy humor to it whereas this one didn't.
In the end, I am glad they made this one, hopefully learned some lessons for when they make Return of the Jedi. If you are a Family Guy Fan, definitely buy it as it is worth seeing. Rewatch value is not as good as Blue Harvest, but still a worthwhile investment.

Family Guy: It's A Trap Review

(More customer reviews)I am reviewing this, like I did with Partial Terms of Endearment, from a free rental I received before street date through my employer. Perhaps the lone perk of working in a video store!
'It's a Trap' opens with your typical Star Wars style scroll in which Seth admits that he really didn't want to do this one, but with the success of the previous two Fox had demanded it. He does ask for viewers to suspend their expectations and promises a better product on their next venture, however I think this is largely tongue-in-cheek because this one was every bit as enjoyable as Blue Harvest, and in my opinion better than Something, Something. A few gags do drag a bit too long, and seem like they are just filler, but the laughs more than make up for the lags.
Return of the Jedi is arguably the easiest of the Star Wars films to pick apart, and they do a great job with it. I didn't feel that the material was tired. It actually had some great moments. True fans of the show will enjoy it.
