(More customer reviews)The second season of Robot Chicken, created by geek-god Seth Green, continues the stop motion, action figure starring insanity that made the groundbreaking first season of the show so entertaining. If you enjoyed the first season of the show, you should know what to expect here: skits ranging from Star Wars to classic TV shows and cartoons, to politically charged moments, celebrity-aimed knocks, to just plain blink and you miss it insanity. However, there are some misses to this season, including a segment starring both Corey Haim and Corey Feldman as themselves, which is almost painful to watch. The good however, greatly outweighs the bad, as we see a crazed Ted Turner (not voiced by himself) masquerade around as Captain Planet, Barney the purple dinosaur looking for love, Castro playing "Dance, Dance, Revolution", a fantastic Highlander spoof starring the current day teen queens, and plenty, plenty more to boot. Also like the first season of the show, there is a horde of voice talent to be found with the second season of Robot Chicken, including Green, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Scarlet Johansson, Charlize Theron, Paul Rudd, David Hasselhoff, Seth MacFarlane, Christian Slater, Phyllis Diller, Breckin Meyer, Miguel Ferrer, Dana "Master Shake" Snyder, Dan Milano, Alex Borstein, Mila Kunis, Michelle Trachtenberg, Ginnifer Goodwin, Macaulay Culkin, Bruce Campbell, Peter Gallagher, Emma Caulfield, Melanie Griffith, Gene Simmons, Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, Weird Al, Kelly Hu, Roddy Piper, and Hulk Hogan. There's a great selection of special features to be found on this two disc set, and yes, like it says on the cover, season two of Robot Chicken is uncensored, and even funnier than you may think it would be without the bleeps. All in all, even for casual Adult Swim viewers, season two of Robot Chicken is a must own.

1. It's technically complete up to the time of its release, but more importantly
2. It never claimed to be complete. It's Amazon that labeled it "complete," and it's a mistake. It's officially called "The Total World Domination Collection." The collection itself never claims to be complete. The title is right on the box, which lets you know that all those reviewers that gave it low scores for its incompleteness don't actually own the collection.
Personally, I think it's a wonderful collection of the first 6 seasons and two longer specials. If it's ever on sale or on Goldbox (like it is today), it will almost invariably be cheaper than getting each season individually.
Other than that, I think the show speaks for itself. If you've enjoyed watching the show, I believe this is a purchase that will be worth it to you. If you're not sure about the show, I can only say that while I don't necessarily like everything about the show, it's still brightened my day more than a few times, so I would recommend it.

Family Guy - Blue Harvest Review

(More customer reviews)As already being a fan of the Star Wars Legacy and Family Guy, I was excited when I saw the commercials for the Family Guy Star Wars Special. I knew this was different then just the regular episodes, and like so many others, I tuned in and was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the storyline similar and different to the actual movies, it also had its own subtleties that made it unique to the way only Family Guy could do it. The movie is based on "A New Hope" (the one that came out in 1977), launching a generation of Star Wars loyalists. Everyone gets a part, and I love Stewie as Darth. It was a perfect fit as he tries yet again to conquer the world.
You can get either the regular DVD or the special edition pack. I am not really sure what's in the regular DVD, but I just bought the special edition at a store today and you get everything. Obviously, the biggest reason you would get the special edition version is because of the shirt. I love it. The details and colors are amazing. What's funny is, it looks like C-3PO/Quagmire is asking R2-D2/Cleveland about his sister's lesbot.
Additional goodies that you get are the baseball style cards, where one side you can put together and its a jigsaw puzzle (I wont spoil it for you), the 3-D glasses so you can watch the fight scene in 3-D. The 19 page booklet is included with sketches and storyboard. Another great feature is that Disc 2 includes the movie where you can transfer it to computer, video iPod, iPhone, and other portable media players. What that means is you can watch the movie on your iPhone, Zune, etc. The final piece is the box. Its actually a great finish piece that puts everything into place neatly and you can even use it as a centerpiece display to show off.
It's worth it. I don't think it's a rip-off like other people claim. You get a lot for 25 dollars, and I am happy and I know that this is something I will enjoy for a really long time. Freakin' Sweet.

Family Guy Presents: Something Something Something Dark Side Review

Honestly, it shouldn't matter if you are a fan of The Empire Strikes Back or not (I don't care much for A New Hope but loved the FG episode). Here is what you need to know: Is it funny? Sure, there are some laughs. Could it be better? I think so. Was it as funny as the last one? In my opinion, no.
Is it funny?-The fact that the episode had me laughing in the first few minutes was a good sign (the probe droid scene was probably my favorite scene in the episode). They do well to incorporate characters into funny yet familiar roles in the most random of times. You will laugh at this episode, so that should be worth something.
Could it be better?-Well...that is kind of my whole point here. There are so many missed opportunities in this episode to poke fun at Star Wars or other actors/actresses that are not taken advantage of. No Luke kissing Leia jokes...no Lando crossing his friends...no jokes about the Ugnaughts (pig people)...come on! Is it too predictable? Maybe...but it still deserves a shot. Besides the missed jokes, some parts were just not too funny, like the AT-AT jokes on Hoth.
Was it as funny as the last one?-I have my criticisms about Blue Harvest and they transfer over to this one too, but Blue Harvest just seemed to have the classic Family Guy humor to it whereas this one didn't.
In the end, I am glad they made this one, hopefully learned some lessons for when they make Return of the Jedi. If you are a Family Guy Fan, definitely buy it as it is worth seeing. Rewatch value is not as good as Blue Harvest, but still a worthwhile investment.

Family Guy Presents: Something Something Something Dark Side Review

Honestly, it shouldn't matter if you are a fan of The Empire Strikes Back or not (I don't care much for A New Hope but loved the FG episode). Here is what you need to know: Is it funny? Family Guy: It's A Trap Review

(More customer reviews)I am reviewing this, like I did with Partial Terms of Endearment, from a free rental I received before street date through my employer. Perhaps the lone perk of working in a video store!
'It's a Trap' opens with your typical Star Wars style scroll in which Seth admits that he really didn't want to do this one, but with the success of the previous two Fox had demanded it. He does ask for viewers to suspend their expectations and promises a better product on their next venture, however I think this is largely tongue-in-cheek because this one was every bit as enjoyable as Blue Harvest, and in my opinion better than Something, Something. A few gags do drag a bit too long, and seem like they are just filler, but the laughs more than make up for the lags.
Return of the Jedi is arguably the easiest of the Star Wars films to pick apart, and they do a great job with it. I didn't feel that the material was tired. It actually had some great moments. True fans of the show will enjoy it.

(More customer reviews)I had already owned the first two movies on DVD. But when i saw this set for only 22.99 here on Amazon on Blu Ray, I thought that the deal was too good too pass up. Based on the Amazon description, I wasn't expecting much. Just the BDs and the Bonus features listed which were for the new film. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised when i got this today! Every film includes a digital copy, something not listed by Amazon in the description. In addition, it looks like all the bonus features from the past releases are still there, something that was also not listed by Amazon when I purchased. All this, 3 great BD titles plus digital copies plus tons of bonus stuff..... all for under 8 dollars per title. Can't beat that. Here is a full rundown of the bonus features listed for each title:

Well, I'm not gonna review that in depth, simply because I think since this hasn't been broadcast yet, many people who buy this will be seeing it for the first time and I don't want to give anything away. But I will say I thought it was just as good as the first two. Really enjoyable. Family Guy fans will not be disappointed with this set. It is a little sad to see it end, since from what i understand there are no plans for making Episode I, II, and III parodies. Hopefully they do something similar, maybe with Back to the Future or Indian Jones, two franchises they are constantly referencing. Can't you just picture Peter and Francis tied up to the chair in The Last Crusade!
EDIT: The It's A Trap Digital Copy Disc also features a DVD of the movie. I did not notice it at first.

The new PSP is 19% thinner and 30% lighter. Should definitely notice the difference as soon as its in your hands. Here are the pros and cons
Pros:
+ Video Out to your TV. Watch your UMD movies and Games on your screen. This is the perhaps the best feature of any handheld.
+ Much lighter, feels really good in your hands.
+ The D-Pad has been upgrades. Fighting Game Lovers rejoice!
+ The analog nub also feels more responsive.
+ Buttons are raised making them easier to click.
+ The LCD is brighter, has a higher refresh rate and the colors are more vibrant.
+ UMD games load faster.
+ The memory has been doubled in this unit to allow developers to build caches they can then use to make games load much faster.
+ Even games that dont implement caches, load faster due to an automatic new caching done by the system.
+ Ability to eat less battery life.
+ Daxter Game is included! This is one of the best games for the PSP
+ 1Gig memory stick is included.
+ Family Guy freaking sweet collection UMD included.
+ Price. For $200 you are getting a lot. PSP system, a game, family guy compilation, a new color, and memory stick. All for $30 more than PSP slim black. I would definitely recommend getting the bundle.
Cons:
-Yes the packaging is a bit cheap.
-UMD tray may not impress. It feels cheaper.
Hopefully you guys enjoy this little system. It really is a sexy looking thing and with critically acclaimed titles like crush and Jeanne d'arc and other games like Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core, Wipeout Pulse, and God of War over the horizon, you wouldn't be a true gamer without one. If you like your handheld games at the same quality as your console games then what are you waiting for. pick this up.
