GREAT ITEM. FOR SUPER NINTENDO. WORKS GREAT. LOTS OF SUPER FUN. GREAT FOR COLLECTORS.The original Street Fighter II is a famous fighting game. Players select from one of eight characters: Ryu, Ken, Blanka, E. Honda, Zangief, Chun Li, Guile and Dhalsim to do battle with. They must then use their combat strengths to defeat the other seven fighters followed by four boss characters: M. Bison, Vega, Sagat and Balrog. Each character represents a certain country and has their own reasons for wanting to win against the others. Each character contains his own selection of basic fighting techniques based on three styles of punches and three styles of kicks. The effect of each of these changes depending on the characters orientation (ducking, airborne or standing still). Street Fighter 2 made famous the "button combination" style of gameplay used to unleash powerful moves specific to each character. These include the ability to project fireballs, channel electricity or capture the opponent in a tight suplex.Street Fighter 2 is one of the most cloned fighting games and its effects on gameplay and fighting games specifically can not be understated. Street Fighter 2 is responsible for making popular several different elements.

These are all great games. To some extent, it is an easy game. However, certain areas and levels can be difficult. It is the most realistic game for Star Wars ever made hands down. Even today. Great for adults and kids who enjoy the movies.

Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the Force Review

Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the Force

Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the force seems like the greatest way to fully enjoy Star Wars. This is not a bad game but as my title says, its repetative. That's not to say its a bad game, it just rehashes too much at throughout each level.
The game is comprised of five chapters, ten levels in each chapter so the game is 50 levels long. You control Luke throughout your journey through the Star Wars Trilogy. You'll begin in A New Hope and end in Return of the Jedi. The game follows the story quite closely and throws in a scene shot (not an actual scene, think of Super Star Wars) from the movie every now and then.
The game plays out simple. Each level is a 2D side-scroller where you'll work your way from one of the level to the other. When you first begin its really easy to get into it. The game doesn't present any major challenges and then you get to the moment where you have to stop to massacre a bunch of your enemies at once. Pretty soon this becomes a chore in almost every level. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have it play out the same way. Luke doesn't take much damage... and he deals out a lot. Top that off with most levels can be progressed through pretty fast so in short it feels like your doing the same thing over and over again. This also wouldn't hurt so much if the game weren't so easy.
There are a few fun levels though. The Trench of the Death Star is pretty fun, and so is the Speeder Bike chase from Return of the Jedi but these level are too few and far between. Mostly you'll just play through the side-scrolling levels. If the game didn't have 40 of these levels and had a bit more variety in the gameplay it would be a little better.
However, Luke does get lots of different moves. When you begin you can only do the basics like jump, crouch shoot and the like. By the time you get to the end of the game you'll be able to do backflips, double jumps and a whole lot more. After each chapter Luke gains another ability or two he can use. This makes it so there's plenty for you to do. I wish as the game went on though, enemies attack patterns would change. An enemy that only fire one blast at you will always only fire one blast at you. As you get further into the game the difficulty level never ups itself.
After you get through the game though, you can rush through the game playing the levels that aren't the same old side-scrolling. But that isn't enough to warrant this game for a buy.
Graphic wise the game doesn't live up to the full potential of the GBA. Visually it isn't appealing enough but it runs pretty fast and stays consistant. I haven't experienced any slow down. The game is pretty colorful but a bit more of a facelift would've been nice.
The audio in the game is disturbingly good. While John Williams classic score sounds a little odd coming from the GBA speaker at times, it matches up with the movies really well. The game also borrowed voices from the movie and dumped them in; from the Jawas to Darth Vadar. There are some original tunes but most you'll recognize from the movies.
This isn't a bad game but it also offers no replay value. Its too easy for starters and eventhough its 50 levels long you can finish it in a day or two. Should you buy it you won't have it long before you fully exploit what it has to offer. The repetativeness of each level is also tedious after a while.
Overall, this is not really a bad game but it really isn't good either. Great idea, but it doesn't live up to the potential of what it could be.

Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Review

Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Super Star Wars video games are incredibly popular. The original Super Star Wars is among my favorite video games for the Super Nintendo. A lot of games that are based off movies don't tend to be good, but the Super Star Wars games were an exception. Super Empire Strikes Back suffers basically from what all three of them do. It's a great game, but the biggest question is: How long will you survive?
Super Empire Strikes Back follows the movie almost to a tee. Inserting it's own little moments to expand on the length of the game itself. For example, in one level as Luke you actually have to find the Snowspeeder while the rebel base is under attack by the empire. This moment doesn't happen in the movie.
The gameplay of The Empire Strikes Back is really simple. You play as either Luke, Han or Chewbacca. You don't ever have a choice of who you play as. The game puts you in the role of a character based on the storyline. It makes sense since it would look strange with Chewbacca roaming the Dagobah system, or having Luke flying through the asteroid field in the millennium falcon. The game actually plays a lot like a run and gun. However, it really does up the gameplay from the first Super Star Wars.
Each character has a blaster they can use, but each character also has a special weapon that's unique to them. Luke, of course, has his lightsaber. Han has bombs and Chewie has a spin attack. With the exception of Luke's Lightsaber you don't ever actually need the sub-weapons, but at least they're there. The levels also work in classic 2D side-scrolling fashion. You make your way from one end of the level to the other. However, there are plenty of moments in the game where you can stray off the beaten path and find plenty of power ups and other items.
There are items to gather along the way. Not a huge variety. You can collect blaster power ups to fire off a different weapon. You start with a default blaster, and can find a power up to go up to a flame blaster, heat seekers, rapid ion and finally, plasma. The unfortunate thing is that you can't have all five blasters at once. Throughout each level you'll also be able to pick up health swords. These swords extend your life gauge. It only last until the end of the level, however, or until you die. So collecting a bunch of health swords in one level doesn't carry on to the next.
There are other types of levels as well. Such as levels where you'll fly and operate vehicles. You'll fly in the Snowspeeder, Millennium Falcon and the X-Wing. In these levels you'll have to kill a certain amount of enemies before the level ends.
About halfway through the game is where it begins to get more innovative when Luke finally gets to use the force. There are a different variety of force powers. You can freeze enemies, slow down your enemies, elevate and much more. It adds more to the gameplay than most people seem to think. Force can't be used too often, though, and you'll need to refill your force power gauge by finding force power ups.
The only thing that really keeps Super Empire Strikes Back down is it's insane difficulty. Even on Easy mode the game is more of a challenge than it has to be. To compensate for the extreme difficulty level, the game has a password system, which you'll most definitely need considering how many times you will die. The passwords are set for each difficulty level. So if you get a password to take you to stage eleven on easy mode, it only works on easy mode. You can't change the difficulty to brave and then enter the password and say you're on Brave mode. It doesn't work that way. The difficulty of this game is definitely a turn off for a lot of gamers. Even expert gamers will have a tough time getting through Super Empire Strikes Back.
Graphic wise the game looks very good for its time. Watching the lightsaber effects and everything was really neat to look at. All the weapons and levels are full of tons of detail. The only real problem with these graphics is that it slows down from time to time.
The real gold of the game is the soundtrack. All the music in the game comes from the movie only it sounds 16-bit. It sounds great, though. A lot of the same music is used over and over again, though. The only problem with the soundtrack is that it isn't big enough. You'll hear the imperial march in more levels than you'll care to sometimes, but for the most part the music is outstanding.
On the whole, Super Empire Strikes Back is a great game. The biggest problem is it's extremely tough. By far one of the hardest Super Nintendo games out there.

Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Review

Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

Super Return of the Jedi is an action-platformer that continues the quality of fun set by the last two games. It follows the movie's storyline pretty well, with nicely detailed renderings of familiar locations, five playable characters, and John Williams' memorable score. As a movie-to-game translation, it's definitely one of the strongest of the 16-bit era.
Special mention must be made of the Mode-7 pseudo-3D stages. With the limited technology available to programmers at the time, they were quite inventive in pulling off the Speeder Bike chase, Millennium Falcon battles, and the final run into the Death Star. There's a nice handful of these levels scattered throughout the game, which mixes things up a bit between the regular 2D stages.
So is the game hard? Overall no, but it's a decent challenge depending on the difficulty level. The final 'escape from the Death Star' level does prove to be quite tricky though, and there are better characters to use in some levels over others.
A must-have for all Star Wars fans. None of the 2D attempts on the Game Boy Advance have come close to the quality of these games.

The Super Nintendo Home Entertainment System (SNES) was Nintendo's second home console. Whereas the earlier system had struggled in the PAL region and large parts of Asia, the SNES proved to be a gobal success, allbeit one that could not match its predecessor's popularity in Southeast Asia and North America - due inpart to increased competition from Sega's Mega Drive console. Despite its relatively late start, the SNES became the best selling console of the 16-bite era. NO CASE, NO MANUAL.

Super Star Wars Review

I bought this game a couple years ago when Super NES first came out. It was one of the first games I got. At first when I played it, I said how hard it is. But as time went on, it got better and better. Like the title of this review, this is an excellent choice of a Star Wars game. Being a really big Star Wars fan myself, owning the Trilogy on video and playing this game. I thought of how accurate the game is. I mean, it has hard and simple tasks, it acually has a story, (Unlike the Gameboy game of it, where you just go around and do missoins) and its information is correct! All in all, this is probably one of the best Super Nintendo games! Oh, by the way. Get the whole trilogy on Super Nintendo like I did. First when I got Super Star Wars, I thought, this is a really good game. Then I found out that they came out with Super Empire Strikes Back. I loved that too. It's awesome! So by then I was thinking, this is a really good series of Star Wars Super Nintendo series. So I thought, they should really come out with a Return of The Jedi. My dream came true. A couple months later, Super Return Of The Jedi came out, and I ABSOLUTLY LOVED the Super Star Wars series for Super Nintendo. My favorite is the Return of The Jedi. I didn't beat any of them yet (I almost beat Return of The Jedi. I made it to the second to the last level, but the emporer's impossible), but I often play them and get better every time. So take my advise, get the whole trilogy for super Nintendo. If you don't have a Super Nintendo, go out and buy one!
Anyway, besides the whole trilogy, this video game is great. Great everything. (Except for the graphics, which as well as the rest of the Super Star Wars triology gaems, rate from fairly bad, to good) Ahh, but who cares about the graphics anyway. This is a good game, and if you like space travel, Star Wars, or Super Nintendo, this is a must. You won't regret buying this or the rest of the trilogy. (I know I don't)
