Nintendo DS G-pak Organizer Black Review

Nintendo DS G-pak Organizer Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was really excited to get this product once I found out how many games it holds. I have no idea why it's so difficult to find a case that holds more than a few DS games, especially given their small size, but it is. This case will hold 30 DS games and a bunch of GBA games. There isn't room for much else inside--just 2 dividers and space for maybe your DS, its charger, and maybe headphones or a car charger--but it does have a zipper pocket on the outside that will hold some smaller stuff (maybe a couple more games, a stylus or two, screen protectors, etc).
The problem I had with this product is that the games were difficult, for me at least, to get in and out of the mesh slots. It's a pretty tight fit, and I was only able to get 4 games per row (each row should hold 5) without forcing the 5th one more than I was comfortable with. Since the slots won't hold games in cases the contacts are left exposed, which concerns me given the difficulty in getting the games in their slots in the first place. I also noticed that it was pretty tough to get games out of the 2nd or 3rd rows when the 1st row was fully loaded. The mesh, which is black, and the elastic also partially block the title on most games, so its tough to see which game is where unless you actually pull them partly out or only put them in about 3/4 of the way when you're loading them.
These issues won't be a problem for some people, and are certainly better than the alternative of just leaving the games lying around or cramming them into the nooks and crannies of other DS cases. For me, however, the pain in getting games in and out was enough to dampen my enthusiasm for having more game storage, and I'll be returning this product and buying more plastic cases instead. If the ability to store a ton of games is your absolute top priority and you're willing to tolerate the inconvenience of inserting and removing them this case may be for you--but personally I'll keep looking for a better solution.

I was disappointed with the coltroller stand. You really get no 'airplane' style action from it. It does work in keeping your controllers separate while in battle. I don't think it was worth the 23$.

There is just so much talk about video game systems these days. Especially since consumers are just craving the recently released Xbox 360 system from Microsoft. Argubly, there are always substitutes for anybody who has the urge for a game system, especially for when it absolutely comes to other systems. I had that craving for the Xbox 360, and instead I went back to Nintendo. After several times experimenting with different systems, I adored the DS system, and decided to stick with the handhelds. I was definitely right, and now that urge still stands with Nintendo's latest DS bundle pack.
The Nintendo DS Mario Kart bundle, is a great combination for anybody who loves the need for Nintendo's speed. The DS system is displayed in a bright red limited edition in this package, and comes with a wirst strap, AC adapter, and other accessories. I was really surprised about how simple it was to operate, without any batteries. All it takes is one quick charge on the Ac adapter, and you have wireless fun in a flash.
The game is also a great find too, Mario Kart DS. This game is absolutely great for die hard Mario Kart fanatics. In this edition, you can race your favorite characters from Mario, Yoshi, Bowser to name a few through over 30 outrageous tracks and challenges. The highlights are mainly around 2 seperate grand prixs:the nitro edition with 16 all new, clever tracks like the snow summitted DK Pass, to the even more wild and wicked Rainbow Road, and the retro edition that showcases several classsic tracks from Mario Karts past including Mario Kart 64, and the original Super Mario Kart from the Super NES system. The graphics are really superb, and definitely bring out even more with the 3-D highlights. The control is a little complex at first, but it is very easy to operate after a quick game. Arguably, for so many who've plaed the analog stick for the Gamecube and N64 editions. There are also so many great unlockables including characters like Waluigi, Dry Bones who just made a comeback in Mario Superstar Baseball earlier this year, and Daisy too.
All in all, the Nintendo DS Mario Kart Bundle is a absolutely great buy for anybody who has the need to get a video game system this year. While all the hype is on the Xbox 360 this time, this makes a great substitute for any parent. I really suggest this as a must have for anybody.

DS Mini Backpack Review

DS Mini Backpack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ordered this case for use with my 3DS system. While the logo shows the "regular" DS logo, I'm happy to say that the 3DS fits very well. Having received the case as part of a 3DS preorder promotion, I researched it very little and wasn't expecting much. However, I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and features. This is much more than a bag with a single, large pocket for storing the system. Indeed, this case will definitely become the primary travel case for my 3DS.
Not only does the case look nice, but it is well-constructed. The nylon feels strong and all features are stitched on (as opposed to being glued), including the rubber "foot" towards the bottom, which appears to only exist for decorative purposes. Worth specifically pointing out: the amount of padding is substantial for such a small case. I feel like the system is very well protected.
It's hard to see from the photos, but the inside of the case uses a felt divider to separate the inside into two, distinct compartments. The inner-most compartment houses the system. The outer compartment opens surprisingly wide and could easily contain things such as small headphones and/or a charging cable. It does not fit the full-size 3DS docking cradle, but I can't imagine needing to travel with that anyway. The inside of the outer compartment also has a mesh pocket that can easily store a handful of games.
The zipper provides two sliders, allowing you to open only the top portion of the case. This is handy while on an airplane or bus (or any other bumpy vehicle) and you don't want to open the case completely out of fear of something falling out. While plastic, the zipper is substantial and I can't see the sliders ever snagging the edge of the case, becoming dislodged, or becoming misaligned.
I think part of the reason I was surprised was because I had only taken a cursory glance at the images and description before ordering and a number of the features are not readily-apparent when you do this. The aforementioned center divider and dual zipper sliders are one example of this, but there are more. For instance, the case includes a metal (aluminum?) carabineer which is about two inches long. This will allow me to easily clip the case onto my carry-on bag while flying. This is appreciated because my DS has always been something I'm constantly taking out and putting back while traveling and clipping it on the outside of my carry-on bag will make this easy to do. That's not the only option though. The case also includes a small, adjustable strap with a plastic clip which runs vertically down the back-center of the case. Also, both sides have a plastic-coated, fabric loop. I'm not sure what you could use these for, but I wouldn't be surprised if they turned out to be useful for something. You could clip a pen to these, perhaps.
The description claims this case features "elastic drawstring detail". I took this to mean it was a non-functional feature meant only to mimic the appearance of a real backpack. I was wrong. The crisscrossing elastic drawstring is fully functional and even implements a plastic, locking slider at the bottom to tighten/loosen the strap. It's definitely small, but I'm sure you can find a good use for it. For instance, I just tried using it to store my book light and it works perfectly.
Having written all that good, it's time for me to move on to the bad things. Oh, look at that, there aren't any! I'm very happy with this case and I hope you are, too!

Batman: The Video Game Review

Batman: The Video Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Batman for the nes is quite possibly one of the best sidescrolling games based off of a comic book liscense and sheer quality of this game is not often found with old games that are usually rushed to coincide with a movie's release date. Thiat is not the case here, what we have is a fun and challenging game that is leaps and bounds better than most of the nes competition.
For a game that's over twenty years old, the graphics are very detailed with lots of nice background effects like buzz saws spinning on the ground and the joker's face appearing on the computer moniters. Another cool effect is the spinning gears in the clock tower which also happens to be one of the most epic last levels in 8 bit. The only real problem graphically is that many of the middle levels don't really match the Batman theme very well and appear to be lifted from another game entirely whcih is really less of a complaint and more of a curiosity.
The gameplay is pitch perfect and the Batman handles in such a natural way. From the wall jumping to switching your three weapons on the fly, everything is mapped out to perfection. Many times playing this, I forgot I was even holding a controller, it really is that intuitive.
Last but certainly not least, there is the music. Each level has it's own melody that ranges from sweeping thatrical action compositions to moody more subtle sound. One thing is for certain, few nes games can manage to utilize the hardware and make the sound as quality as this. This here is a soundtrack that easily compares to megaman or castlevania and in case your new to 8 bit, that's a huge compliment.
Anyway, if you have an old nes lying around, dust it off and play this little gem. Even if your not a fan of Batman but can appreciate some old school platforming, this is worth checking out. Sunsoft really did a tremendous job on this one and it's a shame more people don't include this in their listmania lists because I would pick this up over super mario 2 any day of the week.

This listing is for a Nes Video Game Version. Batman the Video game. Storyline:The citizens of GOTHAM CITY are busy planning the city's 200th Anniversary Festival, but there is not much to celebrate. Crime and violence rule the city. The only man who can free the city from THE JOKER'S evil clutches is the one and only - BATMAN!With your help, the CAPED CRUSADER can defeat THE JOKER and save the good people of GOTHAM CITY. BATMAN is armed with special weapons and acrobatic strength. He must destroy 15 different types of enemies and 5 bosses, while traveling through 5 stages. Finally, BATMAN comes face-to-face with THE JOKER! But who will prevail? It's up to you!--From the NES Batman instruction manual.Overview:Batman is based loosely on the Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson movie. Batman is out to stop the Joker from terrorizing Gotham City. There are some cinema scenes between levels, that show the Batmobile driving around or confrontations with the Joker. The cut-scenes have nice graphics to look at. The in-game graphics are good, too. There are some quotes from the movie included, and much of the scenery came right from the movie, too, such as the Axis Chemical Plant, and Batman's final showdown against the Joker in the clock tower. The sounds were also reminiscent of the movie. The controls were a little tricky at first, but easy to use once you get used to them. The ability to make Batman jump off the walls was a really fun feature. This platformer based on the movie was definitely an exception to the rule that all games based on movies are crappy.

Nintendo DSi XL 20 in 1 Starter Kit - Midnight Blue Review

Nintendo DSi XL 20 in 1 Starter Kit - Midnight Blue

This comes with many different things that you were probably considering to buy for your DS. It is def. worth the price considering how many things you actually get. Anyway, the Charging Dock is one of the things I like the most, since it can charge on my desk and take up minimal space. The downside to the charging dock is that it is lit up whenever the charger is attached to it... So even if your DS is not actually in the charger, it will still be lit up, wasting energy. So unplug the charger from the dock when its not in use if this bothers you too.
The carrying case is big but serves its purpose. It is a hard shell so if it drops, your nintendo will not be damaged. I like that the case has the 3 cartridge cases so you can carry your favorite games securely. They are simple but functional. The USB SD Card Reader, Wrist Straps, and Carry-all Tote Bag have been pretty pointless for me but you may like them. I always like to have extra styluses so I'm glad it came with some for when I forget to put mine back or lose them. The earbuds are surprisingly good; Although I don't use them for the DS, I have been using them with my computer and mp3 player and am impressed. Oh and the car charger- awesome to have as an option if you're going for a LONG drive :-)
I recommend this product, especially in the burgundy color; it's very nice.

Wii Nerf Sports Resort Sword Duel Play Review

Wii Nerf Sports Resort Sword Duel Play
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought these with Wii Sports Resort, specifically for the new sword-fighting games, as I expect many will. They do claim right on the packaging, after all, "Works great with Wii Sports Resort."
The problem is, the sword-fighting games (every variant), require you to calibrate the orientation of the remote by pointing it at the center of the screen and hitting 'A' before the game begins. This requires that the remote sensor on the end of the remote be unhindered. The Nerf blade, of course, covers this sensor. It's true, the blade can be removed relatively easily from the 'hilt' portion of the device, which remains around the remote. Still, you have to start the game up without the blade, then pause so you don't get clobbered while you attach the blade, and then get to actually playing the game.
Other than that, I'd say the things are well-crafted and I have no issues with the materials or quality. But for a device that really adds nothing but 'look and feel' to the game, the whole process of detaching and re-attaching the blade each time you start a new match pretty much kills the added immersion.
I really wanted to love these and was looking forward to lots of sword-swinging fun. Playing detach-and-attach the blade all day sucks out any joy from using them though, and in the end I can only say it's a great disappointment. I can't find any way to justify spending almost half the purchase cost of the game itself on these at all. Thus the low final rating.
(Note: Disabling the option for sensor bar assist in the settings seems to have no affect on the sword game calibration sequence that I can find -- it still requires the sensor calibration at the start of each match. If anyone finds a better way to actually use these things with Wii Sports Resort, I'd be most interested and would be inclined to give them a better rating.)

Wii 2-Pack Glo Sword - Red and Blue Review

Wii 2-Pack Glo Sword - Red and Blue
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought the Glo Swords thinking it would be fun to have with the Force Unleashed on Wii, however this product blocks the sensor in the front of the remote so you have to use the dpad to navigate throughout the game. This caused frustration and I ended up taking the glo sword off the wii remote so I could navigate through menu options with out hassle of using dpad. This product is also awkward on the wii remote as it is difficult to swing and move the wii remote around while this item is attached. I also found that the item seems to mess up the wii remote on swings with using the characters in the game and doesn't work right at all. In all honesty I plan on taking this back and getting my money back because it doesn't work at all how I would like it to work !

Raid 2020 Review

Raid 2020
Average Reviews:

The quote I said is not by me I saw it on youtube. Anyway raid 2020 well first off I have to say is that the front cover of this game is really cool a futureistc cop standing in front of dead robots in his wake just a big spin to people thinking that this game might be good. Ok now to the plot the charcter you play as is named officer shadow and it is up to him to stop a drug kingpin named Pitbull sounds promising enough. Well the controls are very werid you can move left and right just fine but when he moves up and down he moves at a 45 degree angle. Next is the enemy run down you have drug dealers who aren't that hard to beat and seagulls craping on you. Yes seagull crap can kill you in this god awful game. In my opinion if your a nes collector its just good to have it on display so buy it for the sake of saying "hey I have raid 2020" but if you want to play this game just stay away from this game and save all your money, all five bucks.

Medal of Honor: Vanguard Review

Medal of Honor: Vanguard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Basically you just run around Italy and France shooting Nazi's with your airborne sqaud. To progress further in the game you have to accomplish certain tasks such as clearing a building thats full of enemies. Setting up bombs etc. The AI is pretty predictable and the enemies shoot from their defensive positions and just wait for you to kill them. It would be nice if they took the offensive sometimes.
The Wii remote and Nunchuk are fully utilized for this game and it took me a few hours to get used it. To look around you use the Wii remote (pointed at the screen) and tilt it in the direction you want to see, there are crosshairs on the screen that help you aim your rifle. To walk you use the joystick on the nunchuk. To me now its almost as good as using a keyboard and mouse on a PC. You also use actions with the Nunchuk to reload your rifle (shake it to the right) and you swing back the Wii remote to launch a nade. So im pretty happy with the controls.
The graphics are pretty poor but thats to be expected for the Wii. Sometimes when the battle heats up i can notice some dropped frames. It seems that this game is pushing the Wii beyond its graphical limits. Another thing is that the game is really dark, i have to push the brightness on my TV up to near maximum so i can see what going on.
The sound quality is pretty good, it gives the game great atmosphere when planes are flying overhead being hit by cannons. A couple of times i thought there were planes flying over my house!
There is a split screen multiplayer function for four people but i have not tried it yet, everyone will need their own Wii remote and Nunchuk though. Internet multiplayer is non-existent and this is why ive only given this game 3 stars. I think it could be a killer game for the Wii if it had this function.
So its one of the better Wii games available at the moment and i enjoy it a lot. Please give Wii owners online multiplayer and it would be perfect!!

Official Wii Zapper with Link's Crossbow Training Review

Official Wii Zapper with Link's Crossbow Training
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The combination of the Zapper and Link's Crossbow Training is well worth the $20 I paid. The Zapper (which is only a plastic shell for the Wiimote and the Nunchuck) is very sturdy and amazingly well-conceived. The instructions are quite clear on how to insert the Wiimote and the Nunchuck into the Zapper.
Of course the ergonomics of the Zapper are odd, with the trigger (the Wiimote B button) being forward vs to the rear like a rifle or shotgun trigger. However, it's a compromise that Nintendo decided it had to make based on its tests on prototypes. That, and the fact that the infrared component of the Wiimote must be to the front.
The bundled game, "Link's Crossbow Training" is multifaceted and exactly what's needed to give the player practice using the Zapper. AND, the game is a lot of fun all by itself.
The bottom line on this is that the combo of the Zapper plus the game Link's Crossbow Training is a must-have (at least for me) and worth the price. Highly recommended.

Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword Review

Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've held off from buying the Nintendo DS for a couple years now. I used the excuse that there really wasn't any games for it that appealed to me. While the DS line-up of games have gone beyond the Nintendogs, Brain Age and Pokemon lines it was still limited in heavy action-oriented games. It took the announcement and subsequent release of Team Ninja's latest title in their great Ninja Gaiden series to finally make me pick up a Nintendo DS. I am more than happy and glad I broke my embargo of Nintendo's newest handheld. Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword was all I had hoped it would be and actually made the DS fun to play with.
Anyone who games a lot knows that Team Ninja's Ninja Gaiden series for the Xbox (soon for the 360 as well) was seen as a game for the hardcore of the hardcore group of gamers. This series was unforgiving in its difficulty and didn't baby the players. While such a thing may alienate the more casual player it does pose as a great challenge for gamers who have seen and played all types of games and where a challenge to their gaming skill comes only rarely. I was concerned that transferring that difficulty level from the console to the handheld would prove to be a problem, but Team Ninja seem to have found a balance in Dragon Sword's overall execution. While Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword is not sadistically difficult it's also not a pushover. There's enough of a challenge in the gameplay that it shows the spirit of what the Ninja Gaiden series has always been: a challenging and fun action series.
Dragon Sword also made great use of the DS touch screen and stylus system by pretty much using it as the end-all and be-all of moving and fighting throughout the game. The rest of the buttons, shoulder bumpers and D-pad have been relegated to act as a way to block incoming attacks. This makes the game quite intuitive as making slashing motions over an enemy on the touch screen would cause Ryu Hayabusa to lock on that opponent and make his attacks. Combo attacks and chains could be achieved by making the correct patterns with the stylus over an opponent. For hack and slash players the combat system will be easy to use even fancy attacks are not made, but for those willing to learn the special techniques the stylus-touchscreen mechanic could be quite rewarding.
The graphics on this game is some of the best I've seen on an DS game released so far. While not on the same level as the Xbox's Ninja Gaiden Black or the upcoming 360-exclusive Ninja Gaiden 2 this DS title pushes the limits of what the handheld's innerworkings can accomplish. Dragon Sword using 3D animation for the player and the enemies on the screen while using pre-rendered 2D animation for the background. Similar to past Resident Evil titles this marriage of 3D characters with 2D environments makes for quite a beautiful looking game. The comic book style animation for the cutscenes also makes the game play out like a manga. This illusion is further enhanced by the fact that the game is played with the DS opened like a book.
Overall, Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword was quite the successful foray for the traditionally hardcore Ninja Gaiden series which always came out on the newest and powerful console system. Team Ninja was able to bring the action-oriented gameplay of the original console titles, but also bring an innovative and intuitive gameplay through near-exclusive use of the DS stylus and touchscreen. Here's to hoping Team Ninja will continue to make more Ninja Gaiden and original IP titles for the DS to complement the titles they've been releasing on the 360.

I've used a lot of skins for cell phones in the past (Zaggs, Best Skins Ever, and Skinomi) but picked this up for my 4 year old when we bought him a DSi XL. The quality is outstanding, it fits like a glove, and the durability is phenomenal. I've had no problem with the edges lifting up like I have for my other cell phone skins. He loves his new Boba Fett DS and all the Star Wars nerd parents (of which I am a full member) ooh and ahh over it.
With out a doubt, the best accessory I've seen for the DSi XL. If you're not into Star Wars *gasp*, check out the sellers other skin styles. There's something for everyone. Get one.
